Give Online Blackjack Switch A Try

Added: September 9, 2015

If you have conquered the usual online blackjack variants like Vegas Strip Blackjack and European Blackjack and are looking for something more challenging then you must try Blackjack Switch. It is available at all Playtech online casinos like Mansion Casino and Fly Casino.

In Blackjack Switch you play two hands against the dealer. You place a separate but equal bet for each one of them. The switch option comes into play after the two initial cards are dealt to each of your hands and the dealer's face up card is dealt. You can switch the second card dealt to each hand. You are not bound to exercise this option. After you take a call, the blackjack game is played in the usual manner. You play one of your hands first and then the other one. Finally the dealer plays out his hand. Each of your hands is independently compared with the dealer’s hand.

The critical part of Blackjack Switch strategy is to know when to switch cards and when not to. In some cases the decision is obvious. If you are dealt a pair of tens in one hand and a pair of fives in the other, then you will not switch. But you may be dealt a five and a ten in one hand and a ten and a five in the other. Then you have to make the switch to end up with a pair of fives and a pair of tens. However, most of the cases you will encounter on the table will not be this easy. There are several strategies available to aid you. The more complicated the strategy is, the better returns it will deliver.

The following is a middle level strategy based on a strategy card that delivers results acceptably close to the best strategy. While playing online blackjack there is no bar to using strategy cards and these are not difficult to find on the Internet. This strategy card is in the form of a table with the dealer's face up card as the column header and the player's hand value as the row header. Each cell contains numbers from 0 to 3. A value of 3 is for the card combination most likely to win and a value of 0 is for the card combination least likely to win. You check the values of your two hands as dealt and add them to get a total. You then visualize the situation after a switch and ascertain the total after the possible switch. If the total after a visualized switch is greater than the total before a switch, then and only then you must make the switch.
