Australian Online Slot Developer NextGen Gaming Wins Judge Online Slot Dredd License

However, all jokes aside, we have just heard some incredibly cool news. NextGen Gaming has just tied up a licensing deal to produce a Judge Dredd themed online slot game.

Usually when we bring news of some new video slot license, it is usually the likes of Microgaming that have tied in massive licensing deals with major franchises such as Iron Man and Tomb Raider. But NextGen Gaming has been really clever here. By picking up on Judge Dredd, a very minor, yet cult comic book hero, from the UK comic book series, they have access to a blockbuster slot all of their own. Who can forget Sly Stallone in the original Judge Dread movie all those years ago? Such a cool movie, it was reimagend and remade just last year. Can we hear you say great blockbuster slot theme? Of course it is, a fantastically clever move from NextGen Gaming.

Judge Dredd was first met way back in 1977 win a British Sci-Fi comic. And although he may not have as many fans as Iron Man, Hulk or Super Man, he is definitely up there in any top 10 list of super heroes.

NextGen will be producing a whole range of online slot games based upon the character of Judge Dredd. These video slot games will be deployed using the NextGen customer slots platform named the Open Gaming System.

The Commercial Director for NextGen Gaming, David Johnson, has been quoted saying the following about the new Judge Dredd License: “Judge Dredd’s infamous no-nonsense style of law and order married with NextGen’s proven premium, repeat play slots expertise will make for quite the summer blockbuster title. The initial slot game will be available across our industry’s widest distribution network, and initially to our NYX OGS partners.”

We think that this is great news. Judge Dredd is just screaming out to be the focus of an online slot game. The fact that NextGen Gaming is picking up on this franchise license, and not one of the big players in video slot developers, means that we are likely to see something very different.
